Beer Brats


2 lbs. HAEN BRATS (chicken or pork)
2 onions sliced thin
1 cup butter
2 cans of beer
4 cups water
1 1/2 tsp. black pepper
8 hoagie rolls (or Haen Brat Buns)


1. Prick brats with a fork.
2. Place beer, butter and onions in a large pot; add brats and cook over medium heat, simmering for 15-20 minutes.
3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
4. Lightly oil grill grate; grill brats for 10-15 minutes turning occasionally.
5. Serve hot off the grill with ketchp, mustard, raw onion (or cooked slices) or sauerkraut as desired.

OPTIONAL: If desired, lightly butter hoagie rolls and place face down on grill grates until lightly toasted.

Serves: 6-8
